Lessons Learned#
Any learning gained from performing the project is to be documented into the Lessons Learned Smartsheet. Experiences from the entire project team is to be included and reviewed. During the review process, if the SPI or CPI fall outside of the band required 0.85 to 1.15 band, a lessons learned meeting is to be conducted. Sharing what was found amongst the project team members is encouraged regardless of the metric values. This reinforces good lessons learned as well as prevents potential preventable mistakes from happening in future projects.
If at any point during the project a point of learning is found, this is to be documented. Often after project completion, certain important lessons may have been forgotten.
Very important lessons that have been identified and wished to be brought up and communicated to the company-wide projects team can be indicated by checking the To Be Communicated Company Wide
checkbox. A report will filter through all the lessons learned for this check box that will be accessible to those of interest as well as used for further communications if required.
The template is to be used only as a basis and free to be changed as needed. Following a similar structure to BHP's Lessons Learned, if required can be exported to excel and shared to fulfill their requirements.
